Seaweed with fresh carrots, cucumbers, garlic and spicy soy-based sauce. Make sure: no egg is added

A dessert made from fruits, sugar and corn/ potato starch. Can be served hot or cold

Kissel

Dishes that can be Vegenized

Dishes that are not vegan by default, but can be made so, by asking to remove or change part of the ingredients.

Fried eggplants with vinegar, garlic and dill, with sour cream or mayonnaise. To veganize: ask for no cream or mayonnaise.

Zharenye Baklazhany

Cold soup made from assorted greens including scallions, dill, cucumbers etc. Fish and cream might be added. To veganize: ask for no fish or cream.

Botvinya

Bananas fried in butter or coconut oil, with whipped cream and walnuts. To veganize: make sure no butter or cream was used.

Zharenie banani

Chopped fresh fruits served with whipped cream or yogurt and a cookie. To veganize: ask for no yogurt/cream.

Fruktoviy Salat

Baked potato wedges, seasoned with salt, spices, olive oil and sometimes butter. To veganize: ask for no butter.

Kartoffel' po Derevenski

Noodle salad made with vegetables and chicken. To veganize: ask for no added meat.

Funchoza

Beet-based soup, with vegetables and sometimes meat or fish, topped with sour cream. To veganize: ask for no meat, fish or cream.

Borscht

Cooked cabbage, carrots, zucchini, tomatoes with garlic and spices, sometimes with meat or meat broth. To veganize: ask for no meat ingredients to be used.

Ovoshnoe Ragu

Dishes that are not vegan, but appear to be

Dishes that might look vegan, but contain animal products.

Usually pre-cooked with butter and milk.

Kartofelnoe Pyre

Traditional salad made from carrots, potatoes, pickles, green peas, eggs, meat and mayo.

Oliv'ye

Baked or fried buns served with different fillings. The dough will usually contains eggs.

Pirozhki

Traditional sweet soft squares of pressed fruit paste will commonly contain eggs.

Pastila

Wheat pancakes served with different toppings and fillings. Usually made with eggs and dairy.
